2014-05-06 13.37.34-1It’s Mother’s Day Weekend, and your mom want you to take her shopping in McKinney. Clearly, I am not going to be able to create an exhaustive list of where you should shop, because there are far too many really great places. But I’m going to list a few of my favorites with the hope that my husband and children are taking a look at my McKinney ramblings. Feel free to add your favorites in the comments.

Special Event Shopping

I’ve already told you all about the McKinney Vintage Market Days. I plan to make it out there with my mother-in-law in between soccer games on Saturday. I’m on the hunt for some cool artwork for my recently redone bedroom. And you know, whatever else strikes my fancy.

Also falling into the Special Event category is Downtown McKinney’s Second Saturday   shopping. This is where some of our cool shops stay open late on Saturday so you can grab dinner and then get some shopping in. You’ll be able to find everything from home decor, to jewelery, to clothing, to salsa, to popcorn. Loco Cowpoke Salsa Shop | McKinney, TX | Get McKinney

Just be sure to pace yourself, and stop for an adult beverage once in a while.

The Cool Shops in McKinney, TX

Swanky Boutique. If you haven’t stopped in to Swanky, you are going to need to do it soon. This is a women’s clothing boutique (listen up men!) and everything there is fun. You’ll find funky clothing from Ivy Jane, YA, and Amma to name a few, bags by Consuela, Volatile flip-flops, and a HUGE selection of Old Gringo Boots. Stop in and pick up something new to wear to Sunday brunch.

The Crystal Cloche. This shop is one of those places that you end up lost in for much longer than you planned. Their beautiful home decor  (with lots of cloches, obvs) handcrafted jewelry and darling nursery loot are bursting from every nook and cranny. Just when you think you’ve seen everything they have to offer, you will find another corner demanding to be explored. (P.S. Be on the lookout for a Get McKinney Giveaway from these guys next week!)2014-05-06 13.38.35-1

Gray Living. This store presents a “natural European inspired aesthetic,” with home decor, furniture, upholstery, bedding, and more that feel both casual and sophisticated at the same time. It’s a pleasure to walk through the shop and take it all in.
