Just Off the Square: The Stalk Market

What do you get when you combine beautiful flowers, a punny name, unique merchandise and friendly owners? The Stalk Market, a delightful new floral shop just off the square in Historic Downtown McKinney.

In front of the shop there is  wooden stall for fresh flower arrangements. When I stepped inside, I was greeted by Lindsey and Debbie who explained that it was too cold for the flowers to be set up out front, but that they typically fill the stall with fresh bunches of flowers. I can’t wait to head back on a warmer day to see the sidewalk full of The Stalk Market’s floral arrangements.

I quickly forgot about the curse of the cold weather, though, because everything on the inside is simply lovely to look at. The front half of the shop will delight the most creative of gardeners. Filled to overflowing with clever and unique garden decor, tools and supplies, it feels a little like the fairy land display itself.

Lindsey Crump is the owner and floral designer at the Stalk Market, and besides the day to day bunches of flowers they sell at the shop, Valentines’s Day arrangements and the like, Lindsey is sought after to perform her flower magic by many local brides. The back half of the shop is a room dedicated to meeting with brides and grooms to plan this critical piece of their weddings.

The Stalk Market is a wonderful addition to our town. Be sure to stop in when you get a chance.
